Building Services Engineer Job in Malta.

Scope of the Role:

Fritz Energy & Engineering Ltd forms part of Famalco, a diversified and dynamic organization that is currently seeking to recruit a Building Services (M.E.P) Engineer. The ideal candidate must possess the strong business acumen to increase the company’s market share and revenue.


  • Identifying business opportunities by researching industry trends, market conditions, and potential clients;
  • Advise on product selection, and specifications and assist where necessary;
  • Create and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
  • Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and professionals to optimize designs, solve problems, and improve efficiency;
  • Monitor the performance of equipment to identify and resolve issues;
  • Managing and tracking progress on existing and new projects whilst ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget;
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and industry trends whilst identifying opportunities for the company to expand its services;
  • Designing the layout of energy distribution, water pipes, and ventilation systems and identifying relevant materials;
  • Drawing up plans using computer-aided design and building information modeling software;
  • Monitoring the installation of services and managing their maintenance once the building is completed;
  • Making sure that all building services meet health and safety requirements and environmental legislation;
  • Negotiating contracts with clients, particularly in consultancy work;
  • Liaising with plumbers, electricians, surveyors, architectural technologies, and other construction professionals;
  • Giving presentations and writing reports highlighting the practical implications of the design decisions being made;
  • Promoting energy efficiency and other sustainability initiatives;
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvements and innovations;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with all key stakeholders.


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field. A master’s degree will be considered an asset;
  • In possession of an engineering warrant;
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and evaluate the best course of action;
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing;
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools;
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
