Overview
Scope of the Role:
Fritz Energy & Engineering Ltd forms part of Famalco, a diversified and dynamic organization that is currently seeking to recruit a Building Services (M.E.P) Engineer. The ideal candidate must possess the strong business acumen to increase the company’s market share and revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying business opportunities by researching industry trends, market conditions, and potential clients;
- Advise on product selection, and specifications and assist where necessary;
- Create and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
- Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and professionals to optimize designs, solve problems, and improve efficiency;
- Monitor the performance of equipment to identify and resolve issues;
- Managing and tracking progress on existing and new projects whilst ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget;
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and industry trends whilst identifying opportunities for the company to expand its services;
- Designing the layout of energy distribution, water pipes, and ventilation systems and identifying relevant materials;
- Drawing up plans using computer-aided design and building information modeling software;
- Monitoring the installation of services and managing their maintenance once the building is completed;
- Making sure that all building services meet health and safety requirements and environmental legislation;
- Negotiating contracts with clients, particularly in consultancy work;
- Liaising with plumbers, electricians, surveyors, architectural technologies, and other construction professionals;
- Giving presentations and writing reports highlighting the practical implications of the design decisions being made;
- Promoting energy efficiency and other sustainability initiatives;
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvements and innovations;
- Building and maintaining relationships with all key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field. A master’s degree will be considered an asset;
- In possession of an engineering warrant;
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and evaluate the best course of action;
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing;
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools;
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
