Overview
Scope of the Role:
F3 Advisory Limited forms part of Famalco, a diversified and dynamic organisation. It is currently seeking to recruit a Health & Safety Officer who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health and safety protocols, policies, and practices within an organization. This role involves identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and developing strategies to mitigate them. The Health and Safety Officer collaborates with various departments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards and fosters a culture of safety awareness and proactive prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular inspections of multiple workplace locations to identify potential health and safety hazards. Evaluate risks associated with equipment, processes, and work environments.
- Policy Development: Develop and update health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Training and Education: Organize and facilitate safety training programs for employees, including orientations, workshops, and drills. Ensure all personnel are educated on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes. Recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Compliance Monitoring: Stay informed about local health and safety regulations. Monitor compliance with relevant laws and standards and implement necessary changes to ensure adherence.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate and conduct drills to prepare employees for various emergency scenarios.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training sessions. Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting trends, areas for improvement, and compliance status.
- Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect work areas, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards. Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure proper selection, use, and maintenance of PPE. Educate employees on the importance of PPE in preventing injuries.
Qualifications:
- 3+ experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in occupational health and safety are considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
