What is the main thing that you love about working with Famalco?
“If I had to pick one reason why I like working with Famalco, I would have to choose the plethora of opportunities which the company offers. Famalco provides learning opportunities anyone who is willing to learn, irrespective of their level of experience. These opportunities are offered to employees of Famalco equally and without discrimination.
If I would like to learn something new within a different department of Famalco, I know that there is a team which would be more than happy to assist me.
The company also offers a Training Sponsorship Agreement Scheme through which the company offers to bear the costs for courses (the duration of which exceeds two years) so that the employee can advance in his/her career within the department.
But above all, I would say that the most exciting part of my job is meeting new people. I consider this to be a break from the usual routine which allows me to familiarize myself with persons from all walks of life and from different cultures and backgrounds.”
How do you benefit from working with Famalco?
“Working with Famalco is never boring. And this is what keeps me going.
Apart from that, the directors of Famalco are always very helpful. I consider them to be approachable persons who are ready to listen and assist both if the matter is a work-related issue or even a personal one.
Famalco has made considerable efforts to become more employee-oriented in the past years. One of these efforts was the creation of ‘Familja Fund’ which is a voluntary organisation to help those in need – a fund that helps the employees when they’re going through a hard time, for example, health issues.”
Is it easy working with Famalco?
“The directors are well-seasoned in all the sectors that form part of Famalco, ready to hear any opinions and feedback put forward by the employees. They discuss the best way forward with the head of departments in certain circumstances and map out the best methods to proceed.
They do not just take a decision based on their own beliefs but rather want to hear what others have to say and what the employee would like.”
How important are teambuilding events to Famalco?
“Teambuilding events are really important for Famalco as all employees meet up to get to know each other in a setting outside of the workplace where they usually meet.
We hold yearly teambuilding events. Recently we invited all employees for bowling and archery, and the yearly Christmas Party is a must! Famalco considers increasing the frequency of such events and other team-building exercises.”
