Position Overview:
Fahrenheit Logistics BV is seeking to appoint a competent and commercially focused Head of Finance Department to lead and manage the company’s financial operations.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and Leadership Council, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management, reporting, compliance, and internal controls within a dynamic logistics and supply chain environment.
Role Overview:
The Head of Finance will assume responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the company, ensuring accuracy in reporting, sound financial controls, and alignment with Group financial strategy.
The role requires a hands-on finance professional capable of operating in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining financial discipline and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and maintenance of accounting records.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with operational management.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and variance analyses.
- Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Manage receivables, payables, and credit control processes.
- Support treasury activities in coordination with Group finance.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain and strengthen internal control systems.
- Ensure financial policies and procedures are adhered to across departments.
Operational Finance Support
- Partner with operational teams to improve cost efficiency and margin control.
- Analyse transport, fleet, and logistics cost structures.
- Support pricing models and contract profitability analysis.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise the finance team.
- Establish clear reporting lines and accountability frameworks.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a finance management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and Maltese tax regulations.
- Experience within logistics, transport, or operational environments will be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in spoken Maltese is mandatory due to regular interaction with local operational teams, drivers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Fluency in spoken Italian is considered as an asset.
